Liz Merryweather self-portraitLiz Merryweather is a visual artist living in Perth, Western Australia. She has exhibited at galleries including the Kidogo Arthouse and the Preston Street Artspace, created a number of commissioned works, and each year produces a watercolour diary. Liz is currently holding classes on acrylic painting at the Karen Frankel Art Studio.

“I am interested in line, colour, shadow and light, pattern and complexity in my art and nature provides all of these in abundance.

“Natural shapes and forms are the starting point for all my work, whether it be realistic or abstract, watercolour, acrylic painting, black and white pen drawings or pencil and paper sculpture.

“Every line, colour, pattern, shape or form exists in nature, waiting to be discovered and put together in my work, in my own particular way.

“It all comes back to the natural world, in the end…”
